Do you always find it difficult to excel in the football pitch despite struggling hard with all those football drills. Check out these 5 football tips that all professionals use to improve their game. These football tips will help you definitely help you take your game to next level (as it did in my case).
CHANGE OF SPEED
This will surely help you with your football dribbling. This can be explained using this example.Slow down as you approach the defender taking “hesitant touches”. Taking these hesitant touches is really important. This will always keep your opponent guessing about your next move. Now quickly increase your speed and explode into space(if you have space) and leave your defender shattered.
2.LOOKING IN FRONT OF BALL
Now this may come as a surprise. You must have heard that while playing football, you always need to look up and not on the ball. But that’s not where you should be looking. One should always look approximately one feet in front of the ball(on the ground). This ensures that you have both the football and your surroundings in your peripheral vision. The image below will make it clear. Check out images of professionals dribbling and notice where they are looking.
3.CONSTANTLY CHECKING THE POSITION OF YOUR TEAM MATES AND OPPONENTS
This one is really important. While you are not in possession of the football constantly check and analyse the field. This helps you decide your next move which you should decide before receiving the ball. You should also constantly look over your shoulders before receiving the football. I am sure that following this tip will take your game to another level.
COMPOSURE WHILE DRIBBLING
Now this is a problem you may face without knowing about it. I myself faced this problem and believe me changing it has improved my dribbling a lot. I have seen that many players when they receive the ball and start dribbling, they go frenzy and eventually lose the possession. Their heartbeat increases when they have the ball and they dribble without having control over the football. To change this try to keep total control over the ball while dribbling. But this won’t be effective unless you change your mindset and have composure while dribbling.
KEEPING A LOWER CENTRE OF GRAVITY
This will also help you in your dribbling.Do you know why the great Lionel Messi seems to have the ball glued to his feet? Reason number one is his talent and the second reason is his lower centre of gravity. Due to his shorter height he finds it easy to balance himself while dribbling. Now we can’t become shorter but we can bend our knees little bit while dribbling so that our centre of gravity remains low and we find it easy to balance ourself. Practise dribbling with a slight bend in your knees and practise this unless and until it becomes a muscle memory.
